Adaptations
Killer Whales are the fastest marine mammals. They have adapted to catch their prey at a speedy 30mph. Killer whales have also adapted to the frigid cold environment by developing blubber to trap in body heat. Their skin coloring can also be considered an adaptation. The lighter belly, when seen from below, blends with the lighter sky. And the darker top, when viewed from above blends in with the dark ocean depths. The whales have also adapted to swim in pods, unlike other whales, these pods help with protection, and are able to communicate to attack prey as a synchronized group (video below).
